I was expecting to release one more podcast episode before taking a short break, but life doesn’t always go according to plan.

Some pressing personal matters cropped up this week and unfortunately de-railed my latest podcast recording. So instead I’ll be taking my break a week early. I apologize to everyone who was looking forward to a new episode, but encourage you to take this time to catch up on some recent conversations you may have missed.

Most recently, Kristina and I dove into the topic of creativity, and explored our own creative processes. We’ve also photographed several new themes, like recreations and Diptychs. Have you seen the incredible photos to come out of the recent Toy Photographers Meetup in Utah featuring Krash_Override’s awesome new custom minifigure? Listen to his interview where he goes in-depth about the process of making them. Or have you seen The LEGO Movie 2 now that it’s out on home video? Make sure you don’t miss our review episode, featuring @brickandmordor and @coneydogg!

Coming Soon

Luckily, you won’t have to wait long for new episodes. I have some great guests lined up and fun conversations in store, and can’t wait for you to hear them. And just because I’m taking a break, doesn’t mean the whole podcast has to! We have a special two-part series in the works featuring Shelly and Kristina, so stay tuned for that in the coming weeks. Thanks to both of them for taking the reins while I’m gone and providing some fascinating photography talk!

Unless the schedule shifts slightly, you can expect my next episode on Monday June 3rd, where Kristina and I will tackle our next theme: Recreating one of our own photos. If you’d like to participate and get the chance to have your work discussed on the show, upload a recreation of one of your own images to social media with the hashtag #tp_recreation and tag both myself (@thereeljames23 on Instagram) and Kristina (@kalexanderson), or email it to us directly at toyphotographypod@gmail.com. Please have your entries uploaded by Friday, May 31st.

I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who’s listened to the show. This has truly been one of the most rewarding creative experiences I’ve ever had, and that’s thanks in no small part to the amazing listeners like you. I appreciate you for tuning in, joining the discussion in the comments, and sharing your own interpretations of our themes. It means a lot to me. Now if you excuse me, I have some new episodes to record!
