This week’s episode comes courtesy of a recent post from Lizzi, about the new photo project she’s working on this year. I highly encourage you to check it out, not only because it’s a good read but because today’s episode is a bit of a follow-up discussion.

As I’ve previously discussed with Kristina and even written about, projects have always been something I love working on. I don’t always finish them, but I often find new ideas and inspiration in the form of projects. Yet while I’m constantly capturing photos for coffee table books or greeting card series that may or may not happen, I’ve never worked on something like a 365, a popular project in our toy photo community. Ask Lizzi

Lizzi has been working on such photo projects on and off for a decade, so I wanted to get her perspective for anyone looking to start one of their own in this new year. How can you come up with a project idea? What are some of the challenges? How can you make sure to stick with it through the year? What happens when you actually do finish? Lizzi and I discussed all of that and more.

Thanks to Lizzi for coming onto the podcast to share her insight. I quite like these general topic podcast episodes, and hope to do more of them with the rest of the Toy Photographers crew this year. If you want to stay up-to-speed on Lizzi’s 52 stories of Bert, make sure to follow her on Instagram.

We’d love to hear your thoughts and advice on photo projects as well! Please continue the discussion with us in the comments below.
