My love of Stormtroopers is well documented on the podcast, so you can imagine my enjoyment when I finally got a real-life Trooper on the show!

Peter Ross, aka @Stormtrooper_Pete, is a member of the famous 501st Legion, a non-profit organization of Star Wars fans that create screen-accurate costumes and volunteer their time for charity events, conventions, and more.

Peter’s also a great toy photographer and the creator of the SabreTHIS app, which allows you to quickly add great lightsaber effects to your images on mobile. And if that wasn’t cool enough, Peter donates a portion of the proceeds to the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada.

I had a great time geeking out with Peter about Star Wars, Stormtroopers, and Galaxy’s Edge, and hearing his interesting journey to toy photography.

You can follow Peter on Instagram, and download the SabreTHIS app for yourself here.

New Release Schedule

As you’ll hear at the top of the show, my busy schedule has finally pushed me to change the podcast release to bi-weekly instead of weekly. This way, we can continue to produce the best show possible and give it the attention it needs.

So there will be no episode next week, but Kristina and I will be back to talk about our next theme, “Back to Reality,” on Monday, September 2nd. If you’d like to participate with us, please upload your photos with the hashtag #tp_backtoreality by Friday, August 30th.

Thanks so much for listening!

I became even more impressed with Peter’s photography when he told me he doesn’t use any kind of support for his figures, instead braving the elements in hopes that the Troopers don’t come tumbling down!
