Sonic the Hedgehog loves chili dogs, so I assumed Knuckles his friend loves corn dogs. According to the children in my home who LOVE the Sonic The Hedgehog Universe, Knuckles actually loves grapes. Welp, for the sake of the photo above I am still going to pretend it is corn dogs since i have had that photo idea for a while now. With that being said, let’s dive into the LEGO Review: Knuckles and the Master Emerald Shrine LEGO set!
If you’re a Sonic the Hedgehog fan or just a LEGO enthusiast, the Knuckles and the Master Emerald Shrine set is an absolute gem! Here’s a breakdown of the set and why it’s worth adding to your collection and why it is fun to capture photos of.
The LEGO Minifigures
Knuckles Minifigure: The standout of this set is, of course, Knuckles himself. LEGO has done a fantastic job capturing his personality, with details like his characteristic fists and expressive face.
Amy Rose appears again in her standard form as introduced in previous sets. She is quite a cute LEGO minifigure, to say the least.
Picky the Pig is this set’s vulnerable critter. You can see the little pig by itself above and within the Eggrobo below.
The LEGO Build Experience
This set offers a delightful building experience with a good mix of straightforward and intricate details. The shrine itself is iconic for fans and beautifully designed with a mystical aesthetic. The steps leading up to the emarlds are crafted well, creating a sense of grandeur and importance around the emeralds. There are a few hidden compartments and fun surprises around the shrine that keep the build engaging and add playability, like secret storage spaces for accessories or traps around the shrine to “protect” the emerald.
LEGO Set Playability
This set has several interactive elements that make it fun for kids and collectors alike. You can pose Knuckles in various ways and let him get his anger out with a punching bag. Amy can use her Piko Piko Hammer to catapult grapes across the set.
Overall Impression:
The Knuckles and the Master Emerald Shrine LEGO set is a fantastic nod to Sonic fans and a worthwhile addition for anyone who appreciates collectible minifigures or gaming memorabilia. It captures the essence of Knuckles and the mystical emerald shrine wonderfully. Though it could offer more complex building techniques, it’s still a great mix of nostalgia, fun, and displayability. Also, if you like capturing photos of characters who love hot dogs, Chaos soda, and going fast then this set is for you!
Thanks for the review, Matt – somehow I missed this set and this may well go to my granddaughter for Christmas! She’s a big Sonic fan.
