It was in the first post for this blog that I mentioned the idea of combining toy and ‘tourist’ photographs. This year I finally did it. Visiting Brussels, one of our first stops was the Centre Belge de la Bande Dessinée where I got a mini figure of one of my favourite Belgians. Tintin would then travel with me in my photo bag, soon meeting some other characters we know so well.
The whole adventure was encouraged, if not inspired, by Lizzi’s fabulous post on Tintin and the Toy Photographer. Her masterful pictures gave me the idea to pick Tintin (and friends) for this little experiment.
So today I would like to share a couple of impressions – adding up to not more of a narrative than “we travelled.”
So fun to see these (I’m a Tintin fan, too). I love that the various photos use different angles–all appropriate to the shot, of course, but also lending variety when using a statuette (still) figure. Beautiful job!
I only know a little about Tintin, but I love the way you used him his friend in your tourist photos. It definitely encourages me to keep trying with my figures. Marvelous!
