Last weekend Shelly and I had the unenviable task helping judge the winners of Lume Cube’s Ultimate Toy Photo Contest.Together with Lume Cube’s team and Johnny (@sgtbananas) we had the incredibly assignment of picking our top 10 based on the judging criteria,

  1. Originality
  2. Creative Lighting and
  3. Attention to Detail

There were over 2800 uses of #UltimateToyPhotoContest in 14 days, and over 2200 photos submitted on the Lume Cube website!

“WOW, what a contest!” – Trevor Farrow, Marketing

Due to the overwhelming response and the amazing calibre of the entries, the team at Lume Cube decided to extend the prize pool. What was initially a top 3, was expanded to a top 8, with the 5 runners up each receiving a Lume Cube! That’s how amazing the entries were,  a top 3 just wasn’t enough!

Even though the prize pool was extended, that didn’t mean our job was any easier!

Shelly and I trawled through all 2800+ photos tagged with #UltimateToyPhotoContest on Instagram and narrowed our list down to 10 as requested. No easy task. I think our list initially bloated out, to well over 20!

And here are the winners, and the runners up.
