Backstory time: For me, the idea of cars brings to mind the BBC show Top Gear, which has a segment called Star In A Reasonably Priced Car in which a famous celebrity races a compact car around the Top Gear track. Also relevant to this story: Gandalf is a wizard, which collectively are known as the Istar in Middle Earth lore.
A few weeks ago, I was sitting at my in-laws place in Canada, looking over the toys they keep for their grandkids (and being a father of said grandkids, making sure the kids didn’t cause a huge mess). I see a Barbie-sized car, a Fiat 500, specifically. I remember that I am armed with a 12-inch Gandalf figure. Insert the sound of the gears in my brain slowly starting to turn.
After several days of pondering (for like Winnie The Pooh, this bear is of very little brain), I came up with the idea of Istar in a Reasonably Priced Car. This six-image narrative is the result.
And on that bombshell, it’s time to say goodnight. See you next time!

Great backstory. I’m sure it was bouncy trouncy fun fun fun fun fun making this series. I really like the sense of motion in Gandalf’s hair as it’s flowing in the wind.
