Usually my six-image narratives consist only pictures. I try to avoid words or any explanation of the series. But we’re currently running a #tp_synergy challenge in our MeWe group, which requires an interplay of image and words to create a bigger impact. So this time my six-image narrative is different. And since I’m a #hashtagstacking junkie, it’s also a metaphorical story about escape, which is the theme of this month’s Toy Photographers’ Podcast.

The title and all quotes are taken from the song “Rose” by A Perfect Circle. You can find the song on their debut album Mer de Noms, released on May 23, 2000. Yup, that was almost exactly 20 years ago!

Don’t disturb
The beast
The temperamental goat
The snail while he’s feeding on
The Rose
Stay frozen, compromise
What I will
I am
When push comes to pull,
comes to shove,
comes to step around
Lay down
Play dead
I am, I will,
So no longer will I
lay down, Play dead, Play this..
Beat down, gun-shy, martyr, pitiful
I rose, and I roared,
I will I am
