Nostalgia sells! Literally, I spend money on toys that bring me joy from simpler times that I can then create art out of. In this case, the vessel of nostalgia is the Transformer Agent Knight, which is a crossover with the 1980s sitcom Knight Rider. Sadly, this Transformer did not include David Hasselhoff, but KITT the car does indeed talk and light up. My main toy photography objective here was to create a little video that features a stop-motion animation of the robot transforming combined with a few video clips of the car. You can see all of that below and more.

Finally A Pontiac Trans Am Transformer!

Transformers robots and Knight Rider collide with the Transformers x Knight Rider Autobot Agent Knight mash-up pack!

The worlds of Transformers robots and Knight Rider collide with the Transformers x Knight Rider Autobot Agent Knight mash-up pack! I loved KITT as a kid and my mom always said I wanted to get a car like that and now I finally own a Pontiac Trans Am! What a time to be alive! LOL.

This Transformer also has electric sounds, phrases, and scanner effect lights in both the robot and car mode. The Transformers toy includes 2 blaster accessories that attach in both modes and a comm link that attaches in robot mode. Transformers robots have always been — More Than Meets the Eye — but now, through the Transformers Collaborative, fans can experience these larger-than-life characters as they team up, mash up, and meet up with other characters, teams, and people who share this same special quality. I also took some photos of the Hasbro Back to the Future Transformers Crossover: Gigawatt and you can see photos of that HERE.

Hope you enjoyed the photos and I will see you again soon with some nostalgic toy photo action!

What was Knight Rider?

Knight Rider was a popular action-adventure television series that aired from 1982 to 1986. Created by Glen A. Larson, the show starred David Hasselhoff as Michael Knight, a crime-fighter who works for a secretive organization called the Foundation for Law and Government (FLAG). The Foundation aims to combat injustice and protect the innocent using advanced technology.

A key element of the show was Michael’s partnership with KITT (Knight Industries Two Thousand), a highly advanced, artificially intelligent car. KITT was a modified Pontiac Trans Am equipped with cutting-edge features, such as:

  • Artificial Intelligence: KITT could talk, reason, and assist Michael in problem-solving.
  • Super Pursuit Mode: For high-speed chases.
  • Indestructible Body: KITT was virtually bulletproof and impervious to most forms of damage.
  • Gadgets and Weapons: These included a turbo boost for jumping over obstacles and various sensors.

The premise often involved Michael and KITT investigating and thwarting criminal schemes, protecting innocent people, and dealing with corrupt individuals or organizations. The relationship between Michael and KITT, which often included humorous and heartfelt exchanges, was a major highlight of the show.

The series became iconic for its blend of futuristic technology, action-packed plots, and the dynamic between Hasselhoff and the talking car. It also spawned spin-offs, sequels, and reboots, solidifying its place in pop culture.

Are you as disappointed as I am that we still don’t have talking cars and hoverboards?
