September was a fun month with our theme challenge, “Mixtape”, on MeWe. The community was invited to submit their images using music as a source of inspiration. I couldn’t say it better than Tomek himself who stated, “Our challenge, like any decent song, had a solid fade out. The fade out is now complete so we can finally announce the results!”
First Place
We were so impressed by the simple yet delicate posing of the Coraline figure which tells the story of the lyrics so well. The decision was unanimous!
And next we have…
…two Second Places!
Sabrina’s emotional post Never Forget captured everyone’s heart and it is a beautiful tribute to those who have suffered the pain of loss.
Sunny delighted us all with his creative takes over a range of songs from Michael Jackson’s Thriller to Ylvis’s The Fox (What Does the Fox Say?) but it was this Queen’s classic that thundered its way to the top 3 this month!
Last but not least…
Third Place
We thoroughly enjoyed this creative flat-lay presentation by Tao which brings a smile to our faces. 🙂
Of course we mustn’t forget about great
Honorable Mentions!
Our fabulous moderators!
What would we do without our moderators who inspire us to participate with their images?
OCTO-ber!
This month’s challenge is a test of your creativity. Use #tp_octo on our MeWe group to showcase your interpretation of this word. It could be something spooky for Halloween, or seasonal (Fall in the Northern hemisphere or Spring in the Southern) … or maybe something to do with the number 8 which translates to “octo” in Latin. Time to get those creative juices flowing folks!
As a special bonus, Sabrina had compiled most of the songs used in this challenge on a Spotify playlist here! And you can also listen to the Toy Photographers Podacst episode about “mixtape” challenge!
Are you looking for that cafe/pub down the street vibe to share your photos or have a casual conversation about toy photography? If so, consider joining our MeWe community. There is always a friendly toy photographer around to welcome you into our small and supportive community.
