Today in the United States of America is Thanksgiving.  A national holiday where Americans pause and give thanks for the good things in their lives – family and friends, food and cheer. During Thanksgiving it is common for people
to list things they have been thankful for during the previous year.

Although Thanksgiving is a North American tradition (Canada celebrates Thanksgiving in October),  the editorial crew for Toy Photographers, from all over the world, have gotten together to give thanks to you, the toy photography community.

So, without any further ado…

Janan Lee (@spideygoeshygge)

Happy Thanksgiving Day to our friends in the US and Canada! What a wonderful day to be grateful and I myself am so thankful to have discovered the blog late last year. It has become a place for me to read thoughtful articles, view beautiful images, share my thoughts and be a part of a wonderful toy photography community that’s supportive and fun! I’ve chosen this image to share as it represents my thoughts of finding “unity in community.”

The blog for me is the point of reference for the community. Is the place where you can express yourself without being judged and where you can learn that you still need to learn 🙂

Toy Photographers is like a neighborhood cafe I visit as often as I read the newspaper. I love the diversity here; very different people talking, sharing their pictures, asking advice, getting advice, trying out ideas, risking original thoughts and discussing them – I love the buzz of all these voices. I may be the silent guy watching, learning, enjoying himself, only occasionally stepping forward to say something; but Toy Photographers actually gets more of my attention than any other blog, including my own. Thanks, everybody!

Shelly Corbett (aka xxSJC)

I’m grateful for all the many experiences I’ve had helping to run this blog and nurturing the community that surrounds it. Most of these experiences have been good, some have been amazing and a few have been stressful. But all of them have made me a better photographer and more importantly…a better person. Thank you toy photography family. xx

I’m thankful to the Toy Photographers blog, and to Shelly and Brett in particular, for letting me ramble in so many posts, for letting me run a toy safari, play with Kinder eggs and Harry Potter toys and for just generally being a friendly and supportive place to write and share thoughts on toy photography.

The Toy Photographers community is a very welcoming place. Whether online or in person at meetups, it’s a joy to interact with such a positive group of people. I love how you encourage creativity, enjoyment of beauty, and self-expression. It’s a delight to know you all, and I hope we stay connected for many, many years to come.

This blog has become a bit of a second home for me in the last couple of years. As a contributor it’s a great place to share my process, tell stories, and ask for advice. As a reader, it’s the perfect place to engage with my fellow toy photographers, many of whom have become dear friends. Not a day goes by where I don’t open up the blog to check out what’s new!

The Toy Photographers blog has been a huge blessing for me.  I love writing about my passion of toy photography, and thru that I have met a whole lot of awesome people who share my passion. There are few things better than having a group of people I can geek out with over a niche hobby like toy photography, but this community has provided that in spades.  Thanks all for being a part of a wonderful year.

Thanksgiving? We don’t got that here. But I’ll happily raise a glass to all things Toy Photographers that I’m thankful for. Shelly, friendships, connections, inspiration, motivation, opportunities, temptations, laughter, learning and sharing. If you’re one of the many that have played a part in any of these, please form an unruly queue to clink glasses with me. Cheers!

Toy Photographers has been such an indispensable resource for me.  I love to scan the blog on a daily basis and read the interesting articles filled with inspiring art.  I am thankful to Shelly Corbett and Brett Wilson for starting and running this resource and for all the other contributors to the blog – you all are great!  And a special thanks to James Garcia for creating such a professional podcast.  Y’all rock!
