As a photographer and artist I love sharing my work on Instagram, but nothing replaces the joy of seeing my photographs beautifully printed, framed and hanging on a gallery wall. So when Bryan Ohno asked me, and the members of the StuckinPlastic collective, if we wanted to take over the gallery for November, we jumped at the chance!
I cordially invite you to join Kristina Alexanderson and myself on November 5th in Seattle, Washington at the Bryan Ohno Gallery as we present our latest toy photography as well as the amazing toy photography of Mike Stimpson and Boris Vanrillaer.
We will have two events around the opening of the show. The first is the official gallery opening on Thursday, November 5th from 6-8pm. This is a great opportunity to meet both Kristina and myself in person, ask questions about the work of all the artists in the collective and see some of your favorite LEGO photographs in person, large, framed and for sale.
The second event will be an introductory toy photography workshop on Saturday, November 7th from 1-3pm taking place at the Bryan Ohno Gallery. Kristina and I will talk about how we discovered LEGO photography, why we use LEGO and toys in our art, talk about the basics of macro and toy photography specifically as well as lead a “hands on” workshop so all attendees can experiment with this fun new art form.
It is a great honor to be showing my work alongside photographers I truly admire and am blessed to call my friends. I hope you will be able to join Kristina and I on November 5th (or 7th) for this celebration of toy photography, LEGO and the wonderful community that we are all connected to.
