The Seattle Toy Safari was one year ago and the memories are still fresh. As excitement builds for the attendees of this weeks San Francisco Tay Safari, I want to share with you a small taste of last years event.

One of my projects around last year’s event was to create a behind the scenes video. I hired two friends to work along side the talented Leila Chieko to video the entire event. The goal of this project is to create a video that will show why these events are so much fun and to share a little of the magic. We interviewed many of the attendees so they can tell you in their own words why they attend and why they love to take photographs of toys.

I had no idea how big this video project would be so there has been some delays. Mostly due to the fact that there is simply too much awesome footage to incorporate into one video. Hard decisions need to be made and a red thread found amongst all the interviews, video and still images. Patience is the order of the day. If this little teaser is any indication, the final result will be worth the wait.

If you’re one of the amazing folks who will be joining me in San Francisco later this week, this will ratchet up the excitement. For the rest of the community, I hope this will help you to feel like you were there with us in Seattle.

Enjoy!

Shelly

I am indebted to Leila, Justin and Luke for all their efforts on my behalf. I owe a big thank you to all the Seattle attendees who spoke with love and delight about toy photography. You’re all awesome!!
